Continuous delivery and production engineering

Continuous product delivery

The client provides the product and the backlog of changes. grm.sh delivers those changes to staging and production and operates the production platform on which they run.

Overview

A request is submitted in the client's own words. It is returned tested, independently reviewed and delivered to staging within a 24-hour window. A single fixed monthly plan covers the complete delivery process within its included capacity.

grm.sh is a managed professional service. It is neither a staffing arrangement nor a general consultancy. The service consists of one commitment: delivery of the client's backlog, month after month, together with responsibility for the production platform on which the product runs.

Service structure

1. Continuous product delivery

The principal service. It comprises a fixed monthly plan, a single ordered queue, one active request at a time and a defined amount of delivery capacity per month. Capacity is offered at three levels so that the plan corresponds to the actual backlog.

2. Production stabilization

A separate project for a product that the assessment finds unsuitable for standard continuous delivery. The scope is fixed and the outcome is defined: the system is brought to a state in which it can enter the monthly service.

Delivery process

Analysis
An agent examines the source code, the documentation and the recorded production baseline, and proposes the smallest independently deliverable result, together with acceptance criteria, risks and required access. A human operator reviews the proposal before it is issued to the client.
Brief
Approval of the Delivery Brief fixes the definition of completion for that request.
Queue
Approved items are held in a single ordered queue and may be reordered until an item becomes active.
Build and review
Agents implement and test the change. A separate reviewer verifies the result against the Delivery Brief and against the code change itself. Findings are corrected before delivery to staging.
Acceptance
The working result is delivered to staging with its supporting evidence and is accepted explicitly by the client. The change is then released, production is verified, and the next request is activated.

Delivery platform

Both services are executed on the grm.sh platform: an agent harness supervised by human operators, gated builds, recorded production baselines and an audited delivery path. The platform is the means by which the work is performed. It is not a separate product, and the client is not required to operate it.

Assessment

The monthly service is preceded in every case by a read-only review of the existing codebase, the infrastructure and a representative set of forthcoming requests. The assessment establishes whether the project fits the standard delivery model, demonstrates how the actual backlog maps into Delivery Units, identifies any stabilization required, and produces a recommended monthly plan together with a specific onboarding plan. The assessment is included and is not separately charged.
